The Station Caretaker




The Station Caretaker is directed by Vladislav Emelin. Ell is a lone station caretaker on a volcanic planet those who are forced from day to day to perform work incomprehensible to him until his contract expires. Once, due to the caretaker's negligence, the building with the neighboring explodes with power units, severely damaging the working compartment. The only living friend for whom Ell is engaged this work - is a fish named "Blabber". When it explodes, it will dies and Ell is left completely alone, alone with his problems. Now nothing feeds his capsule, but oxygen is about to be consumed. Ell calls for help and hopes to hold out until their arrival. He tries to do something to survive but, unfortunately, he has no skills. Soon the lack of food, air and heat has a strong effect on his sanity and Ell undergoes severe hallucinations. He has already resigned himself to his fate and does not resist death. When on the third day, help still comes. In the end, Ell realizes that he was not too attentive here. After all, help is provided by another hallucination.


Vladislav, the director of the award winning project was born in 1997 in Alapaevsk (utopian small city in asian part of Russia). Graduated from the Ural State Pedagogical University, Faculty of Psychology. In 2018, he graduated from directing courses at the Sverdlovsk Film Studio, where he later worked as an assistant. At the moment he is studying at the St. Petersburg State Institute of Cinema & Television, specializing in director of a feature film. He made his debut in 2021 with the short film «The Station Caretaker»
