During the summer of 1974, a brave nine-year-old paper carrier faces the challenge of restoring her hope after witnessing a distressing incident.

Set in a fictional village in Nova Scotia, Monica's News offers a poignant yet ultimately uplifting depiction of evolving idealism.
Pamela Gallant – Writer, Director – PEI Acadian filmmaker Pamela Gallant has seen her independent shorts win awards at film festivals across Canada, including the Atlantic Film Festival for her half-hour drama La voisine, and the short fiction Au rythme du courant. She studied filmmaking at CEGEP de St-Jérôme, York University, and with Venaco Productions in Paris, France. Pamela frequently works as a director and editor for documentary series. She is a director alumna of WIDC Story & Leadership and received the WIDC Feature Film Award for her screenplay Monica’s News. Her project is an award-winning project of Montreal Women Film Festival.
