The Montreal Women Film Festival was founded a few years ago at Montreal's Cinema du Parc to celebrate International Women's Day on March 8th. During the event, Linda Serpone, President of the Montreal Council of Women, highlighted the festival's significance in recognizing films centered on women's rights and supporting female directors.
In collaboration with Women Cinema Daily magazine, the festival serves as a symbol of empowerment, creativity, and innovation, honoring the outstanding achievements of women in film and media. It is committed to showcasing the vision and talent of women in the industry, featuring IMDb qualifying competitions and hosting annual screenings at Cinema du Parc and through Women Cinema Daily. The festival emphasizes the contributions of women in roles such as directors, producers, writers, and cinematographers. We are delighted to announce the winners of the seasonal competition.
