Check out the Winners of Montreal Women Film Festival

Updated: Jul 20, 2025

The Montreal Women Film Festival was established a few years ago at Montreal's Cinema du Parc in celebration of International Women's Day on March 8th. During the event, Linda Serpone, President of the Montreal Council of Women, emphasized the festival's importance in acknowledging films focused on women's rights and supporting female directors.

In partnership with Women Cinema Daily magazine, the festival stands as a testament to empowerment, creativity, and innovation, celebrating the remarkable accomplishments of women in film and media. It is dedicated to presenting the vision and talent of women in the industry, offering IMDb qualifying competitions and hosting annual screenings at Cinema du Parc and through Women Cinema Daily. The festival highlights the contributions of women in roles such as directors, producers, writers, and cinematographers. We are pleased to announce the winners of the seasonal competition.

The upcoming annual screening of the Montreal Women Film Festival is scheduled for March in celebration of International Women's Day. Over a span of three days, films created by female directors and producers from Canada and around the globe will be showcased both online and in theater. The festival team places great importance on acknowledging, promoting, and showcasing films directed by women, celebrating the cinematic language, female talent in media, and their unique visions.
