"A Knowing" is an experimental film that pays tribute to Divine Feminine consciousness and questions the western, patriarchal concept of a "witch".
It offers a poetic and visceral invitation to remember the sacredness of the feminine—both ancient and present within us now. The project will screen on September 6th at the Cinema du Parc of Montreal as part of 2026 Montreal Women Film Festival.

Jazzara Jaslyn, the director of the film is a South African actress, writer, and director born and residing in Cape Town, South Africa. She graduated from UCT in 2014 with a BA in Theatre and Performance. Her promising career in theatre and film includes the West End hit play "LUNGS," Eliza Pendleton in "WARRIOR" Season 3, Jane Swann in "Professionals" (with Brendan Fraser), and Miranda Hugo in "Lioness" (MNET). Jazzara is deeply passionate about exploring the human condition and finding beauty and humor in life, which has led her to create her own work as a writer and director. She has always been drawn to symbolism and the unseen, and her work incorporates elements of absurdism and surrealism. "A Knowing" marks her directorial debut.
