"TROUBLE" Screening at Cinema du Parc

A high school teacher faces questions about the nature of trouble and who has the authority to define it.

Trouble is an American short narrative film which will screen as an official selection and finalist of the 2026 Montreal Women Film Festival at the Cinema du Parc of Montreal on September 6th, 2026.

ANNETTA MARION is an acclaimed filmmaker, director, and showrunner who has won a Primetime Emmy Award, Hollywood Creative Alliance ASTRA Award, Gracie Award, and has been shortlisted for an Oscar, as well as nominated for a Peabody Award and a BAFTA. She has collaborated with some of the biggest stars on major shows for platforms like Netflix, Amazon, Apple+, ESPN, OWN, MTV, VH1, and Investigation Discovery, including the renowned OPRAH’S MASTER CLASS.

Annetta's Amazon Original Series FIRST TO THE FINISH recently won two 2026 Gracie Awards for Director (Sports Documentary) and Sports Program. This nonfiction, high-energy action series provides an inside look at the exciting Mazda MX-5 car racing season, primarily through the experiences of three remarkable women in motorsports as they tackle the challenges of high-level racing. FIRST TO THE FINISH debuted last year on Prime Video Sports; Annetta served as an EP/showrunner and directed all six episodes of this impressive pilot season.

She previously produced and was the second-unit director for the beloved award-winning STILL: A MICHAEL J. FOX MOVIE, which premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. This hybrid film garnered four Primetime Emmys, a HOPE Filmmaker Award at SXSW, and five Critics Choice Awards, and received both BAFTA and Peabody nominations.

Annetta is currently a member of the Directors Guild of America (DGA) on the Eastern Directors Council and National Board (as an alternate). She is a highly sought-after speaker and panelist at Film Festivals, Organizations, Non-profits, and Guilds.

Fun Fact: Annetta enjoys attending Vipassana silent meditation retreats, particularly at the Shelburne, Massachusetts center, which was the first one established in North America.
